Hope In A Jar

I’ve tried so many moisturizer’s in the past like Olay, Dior, Shu Uemura, MAC etc. but the only moisturizer and skincare that I really liked for my skin was Obagi. It was prescribed to me by my Dermatologist and I’ve seen great results with it in weeks! I’ve used it for over a year when I finally decided it was time for me to move on – not that it wasn’t working for me anymore but for reasons that, my skin had gone way better compared to when I started using it and it was hella burning my pocket already! I was in search of a great moisturizer that could pass my standards.

I’ve tried several new products from the imported ones even to the local ones but none had really satisfied me. I was already thinking of going back to Obagi when one day while I was lurking around Beauty Bar to buy myself a toner (an important daily ritual for me aswell) out of curiosity, I asked the SA in charge what’s their best selling face moisturizer. She handed me Philosophy’s Hope in A Jar. I didn’t really had time to test it but one thing caught me – Hope in A Jar says “philosophy: where there is hope there can be faith. where there is faith miracles can occur” that was the selling point! I bought it together with Philosophy’s purity high foaming cleansing gel.

The makers of Hope in a Jar moisturizer, the Philosophy skincare company, describes itself as “a lifestyle brand that celebrates feeling well and living joyously”. Their website goes on to explain their origins: “The story of Philosophy begins with the story of BioMedic, a medically-based skincare line distributed by the world’s leading plastic surgeons and dermatologists and the first company started by philosophy brand creator and founder, Cristina Carlino.Philosophy skincare was inspired by years of medical research that has helped shape the skincare treatments, peels and protocols currently offered in top plastic surgery and dermatology practices world-wide.”

Over the time I used this moisturizer I’ve been pretty well satisfied with it. What I like most about this product is that unlike other moisturizer’s it doesn’t make my face feel greasy at all, it actually dries up fast. It has a penetrating and hydrating feeling once used and makes my face feel like a perfect canvass prior to putting make up. Over the time I’ve used this moisturizer it gave my skin a certain glow. The only thing I didn’t really like with this was the smell but I’ve gotten used to the smell of it since I use it 2x a day, morning & evening. Other than the initial smell, Hope in A Jar would probably stay in my daily skin ritual for quiet a long time.

Hope in A Jar is also Sephora’s best seller out of all the moisturizer’s they have. Hope in a Jar is recommended for people with normal skin and a traditional t-zone area. It is for those with sun damaged skin, that want makeup application to be optional. It is a daily moisturizer, and the jar says it can be used twice a day if necessary. Hope in a Jar is also a quality complement to acne medication – well that’s a plus!
